keitreks is a static content site. We don't run our own accounts, ads, or trackers, and we don't ask you for personal information to read a guide. This page explains the little data that does move when you visit.

What we collect directly

Only what you volunteer — and only two things. You can read every guide without giving us anything: there are no accounts and no comment forms. The two exceptions are both opt-in:

The Trek-Ready Program waitlist. If you enter your email to be notified when the Program opens, we store that email address and the time you signed up, used only to email you about the Program launch. We don't sell or share it and won't send unrelated marketing. It's held with our infrastructure provider (Upstash), and you can have it removed any time — email hello@keitreks.com.
Difficulty votes. When you rate a trek's difficulty, we store your numeric rating and an anonymous random ID (in a first-party cookie) so the same device can't vote twice. That ID isn't linked to your name, email, or anything that identifies you — see Cookies below.

If we add anything else later — analytics, ads — we'll update this page and ask for consent where it's required, first.

What our host and network see

Like any website, when your browser loads keitreks our hosting/CDN provider automatically processes standard technical data — your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — to serve the site and protect it from abuse. This is ordinary server logging, not profiling by us.

Affiliate links and third parties

Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination retailer (and its affiliate network) may set a cookie to attribute a possible purchase to us. That happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours, and only if you click. We don't receive your payment details or personal data from those purchases — only aggregate commission reporting.

Cookies

keitreks sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The one first-party cookie we set is functional: if you cast a difficulty vote, a random anonymous ID (kt_vid) is stored so the same device can't vote twice. It marks a device for that single purpose, not you, and holds no personal data. Any other cookies come from a third party you chose to click through to (see Affiliate links), governed by that party's policy.

Your choices

You can browse without giving us anything. You can block third-party cookies in your browser, and clicking our informational links (rather than affiliate links) involves no attribution cookie at all.

Changes

If our data practices change — for example if we add analytics or advertising — we'll revise this page and date the change. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
